The beloved F-Series platform would boast a PowerStroke engine, delivering diesel efficiency and enhanced MPG ratios. Pick-up fans were (understandably) delighted.

For those craving a more traditional powertrain, however, this shift to diesel proved unwelcome. They wanted the familiar rumble of a V8 and they worried that the new F-150 would no longer yield the necessary growl.

Fear not, F-Series devotees! Ford is still offering a variety of non-alternative options to consider - with Total Landscape Care recently revealing three available engines:

The V6: A 3.3L V6 engine will anchor the F-150, serving as the entry-level option and generating an estimated 282 HP and 253 lb.-ft of torque. This will accommodate all light-duty tasks with ease.

The V8: those in need of all-terrain performance will find value in the 5.0L Coyote V8. While no official specs have been released, this powertrain should prove comparable to the 2017 model and offer (at least) 385 HP.

The EcoBoost: to ensure everyday economy, Ford is also providing a 2.7L EcoBoost engine. This will bolster MPG ratings through advanced direct-injection technology.

While the 2018 F-150 may now feature PowerStroke capabilities, no driver will suffer a compromise of traditional F-Series performance. Find the perfect engine for every need!

The power of the 2017 F-150 Raptor can no longer be contained. It’s pushing past its North American cage and revving toward the world beyond.

According to Motor Trend, the 2017 Raptor will soon be unveiled across the globe - with China proving its first destination. Ford is seeking to redefine its brand overseas, offering platforms that are (traditionally) intended only for the U.S. and Canada. Introducing audiences to its signature F-150 off-roader, therefore, is a perfect start to this new campaign.

The 2017 Raptor will soon dominate the Chinese market. This 3.5L powerhouse - which delivers 450 HP and 510 lb.-ft of torque - will be a unique addition to the county, offering Super Crew capabilities and premium performance. It will remain almost entirely unaltered (with the only changes made to its roofline and light placements) and will provide a strong counterpoint to the typical sedans and crossovers.

Ford is anticipating high sales abroad - and so is the Novlan team. Though the Raptor may embrace a North American sensibility, we know that its international appeal will be undeniable.

With the new year comes a new award. Ford - in its quest to fill the shelves of its F-Series' trophy case - has pushed the boundaries of design, fusing its F-250 Super Duty with a series of enhancements; and these enhancements have recently earned recognition from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Association (NHTSA).


According to MSN, the 2017 F-250 has earned a staggering five-stars from the NHTSA! This rating (the highest available) showcases Ford’s dedication to improving the driver experience, with the pick-up lauded for its roll-over protection, side impact responses, and front-crash resistance. It marks a milestone for the brand, with last year’s F-Series managing to secure only four-stars.

What caused this sudden advancement? The NHTSA notes that Ford’s recent upgrades - which include the Safety Canopy, an advanced airbag deployment system; available rear inflatable seat belts; a SOS Post Crash Alert System; and military-grade aluminum framing - have allowed the truck to dart past the competition. The entire platform has been engineered for prevention and protection. This has delivered yet another victory for 2017.

We’re not surprised. The F-250 Super Duty proves an ideal option for work or play, fusing industry-leading safety with V8 performance.

Less often proves more in the world of hybrid technology. Tiny hatchbacks and tightly-tailored sedans define the market - with automotive engineers seeking to maximize performance through lightweight, efficient profiles. With large engines, after all, comes the need for equally large quantities of fuel.

The impending arrival of a hybrid Ford F-150, however, should redefine this philosophy. Bigger is finally better.


According to MSN, the hybrid F-150 (which was first announced at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, along with a fleet of other plug-in and EV platforms) has been spotted. Clever-eyed photographs captured it from every wide-bodied angle, hoping to reveal its secrets. This was no easy task, thanks to Ford’s ample camouflaging; but a few insights were gleaned on the Michigan proving grounds:

The Possibility of a J1772 Connector - extensive cladding along the front fender suggests the presence of a Connector. This will allow for quick plug-in capabilities (potentially even utilizing Ford’s signature DC Smart Charging program).

The Use of a Four-Cylinder Engine - the soft exhaust decibel suggests a more refined engine. A four-cylinder EcoBoost is expected, similar to the one shared with the Explorer (which yields 310 HP and 320 lb.-ft of torque).

The Potential for a Turbocharger - through a four-cylinder engine is anticipated, MSN critics wonder whether the hybrid F-150 will still offer turbocharged power, similar to the base model of the Mustang. The chances are considered high.

Rumors define the automotive market - little wisps of conversation, half-formed speculations. Drivers leap from one conclusion to another, leaving wide trails of shaky truths in their wake; and it often proves impossible to decipher fact from feverish fiction.

Ford recently offered a guarantee for the future, however - confirming the arrival of a diesel F-150.


According to Fox News, Ford plans to release a diesel F-150. This will mark a momentous milestone for the brand, with the F-Series never before featuring a gasoline alternative. Public demand for more efficient pick-up responses, however, has created a need for non-traditional power; and this 3.0L engine will maximize every mile, pairing direct-injection technology with automatic start-stop capabilities.

The end of the year leaves many automotive manufacturers reflecting on their failures - with sales down and consumer interest waning. 2016 saw stumbles from many marques (including Toyota, GMC, and Chevrolet) and the industry suffered.
