The competition proved fierce - with V8 engines roaring and tires stirring dust. Pick-ups battled for dominance, delivering angry all-terrain thrusts; and, in the chaos, many steel-bellied beasts fell, their a-frames crushed and their trailers toppled.

One did not. The 2017 Ford Super Duty instead rose above challengers, earning the title of Truck of the Year from the Detroit Free Press.

North American automotive sales have shifted with each month - reflecting the trends of budget-conscious consumers and highlighting weaknesses within every brand. Ford was no exception, with its signature Mustang and Fusion revving over rocky roads. These popular platforms failed to generate the wanted numbers, and profits stumbled.

The F-Series has provided stability.

According to Business Wire, unlike its pick-up competitors, the F-Series has managed to maintain a strong (steady) margin. In October it experienced a two perfect increase, with 65,542 total units sold. This helps to bolster an already impressive 2016 performance, allowing Ford to post a 0.1 year-to-year rise.

A quick glance may lead consumers to dismiss this achievement - but critics are already praising the company for its adaptable designs, best-in-class power, and smart infotainment capabilities. November proved a month of revelations - with Ford allowing drivers to peer behind the proverbial curtain to catch a glimpse of its production lines. On those lines sat a series of F-150 performers and Super Duty powerhouses, each primed for 2017. The Go Further future is almost here.

According to Ford Authority, the pick-up market will soon experience a boom of F-Series capability. New concept builds for the F-150, F-250, F-350, Raptor, and Super Duty have been released - and each promises incredible off-road adaptability and long-haul strength. These trucks were first displayed at the 2016 SEMA event and they’ve since made their ways out of Las Vegas (and onto the highways for testing).

A new year will soon begin - and with it comes Ford power. The company is planning a global launch of new F-Series platforms, pairing with noted aftermarket tuners (including Air Design, TS Designs, Skyjacker Suspensions, and MAD Industries) to enhance their HP and payload abilities. Eight custom trucks are now anticipated and, while no official specs have been released, details are already swirling about new V8 EcoBoost engines for all.

That performance will soon expand beyond all expectations.

According to Torque News, Ford is mulling a new engine for its 2020 F-150. A 4.8L V8 powertrain is now being considered, with the brand wishing to revitalize its signature truck. By delivering a new V8, it could achieve improved strength, with critics estimating HP ratios of more than 400 and torque ratios of more than 390 lb.-ft. This would ensure best-in-class results with every mile.

It would also ensure best-in-class economy. Rumors swirl that the 4.8L platform will also feature EcoBoost technology. This will allow the 2020 F-150 to continue its trek toward efficiency, with Ford emphasizing reduced fuel demands to compete with mid-size models.

We’ll admit: we’re excited. Even though this F-150 future proves distant, we’ve already got our eyes on the horizon - searching for the first hint of a new V8.

With best-in-class performance comes a series of broken records - payloads and MPG possibilities, trailering and highway speeds. The 2017 Ford Super Duty has earned many titles.

Few, however, prove as unexpected as its most recent one.

According to Road/Show, the 2017 Ford Super Duty was recently named the world's Best Flag Puller. At the Homestead-Miami Speedway, the pick-up delighted crowds as it hauled a massive 45-foot x 92-foot American flag across the pavement, with the red and white stripes billowing dramatically in the breeze. This feat shattered the previous record held by Chevrolet (it only managed a 40-foot x 80-foot span).

Impressed? We certainly are... and perhaps a little bemused. This is not the usual test of strength given to pick-ups. We know, however, that Ford crafts each Super Duty for every day and every occasion. Pulling an oversized flag is no exception.

Ford is ready to conquer that impossibility. The 2017 F-150 Raptor Pre-Runner is coming.


According to PickupTrucks.com, Ford revealed its 2017 Raptor Pre-Runner at the SEMA show. This off-road powerhouse thrilled guests, with its 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine promising all-terrain domination. The wide stance created a rugged look, with 9-inch differentials resting on sharply arched fenders; and the 39-inch wheels added undeniable gravitas. Custom FOX shocks completed the sporty effect, delivering coil-spring designs to properly distribute impact weight.

What truly impressed SEMA guests, however, was the Pre-Runner’s multi-terrain technology. With the press of a button, this truck can effortlessly shift from Sport Mode to Baha Mode and everything in between - providing custom responses for every road. Ford is bringing a fleet of F-Series models to the 2016 SEMA show, with its line-up stuffed with supercharged power and V6 performance. Among the many custom pick-ups will be the Bojix... and the Novlan team desperately wishes we were in Las Vegas to see it.

Torque News reports that Ford’s custom Bojix F-150 will makes it debut at SEMA. This pick-up promises exceptional power, delivering a robust 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. Through its twin-turbocharged platform - which pairs an advanced intercooler, a new exhaust system, and a Full Race intake system - it should generate up to 375 HP and 470 lb.-ft of torque. We’ll admit: we’re in awe. The Bojix F-150 combines all of the F-Series’ signature traits, creating a pick-up that impresses with every mile.
