Despite a valiant effort from Dodge, Ford's top-selling platform proved unstoppable in a head-to-head competition - delivering enhanced performance with every rev. Its 2.7L turbocharged V6 yielded 325 HP (at 5,000 RPM) and 400 lb.-ft of torque (at 2,750 RPM). A 10-speed automatic transmission smoothly adjusted to both changing terrains and class-leading payloads, accommodating up to 13,200 pounds of conventional trailering; and its massive frame (243.7-inches long, 79.9-inches wide, and 75.6-inches high) promised durable responses on even the roughest roads, blending high-strength steel panels with aluminum-alloy accents.
