Shadows surround you. The day has ended; the night has come; and the road is long and winding, with only your headlights to penetrate the blackness. You can’t see.... anything, and this will be a frightening drive home.
Ford understands that fear - with its recent poll noting that between 81% to 87% of consumers feel anxious in the dark. Both men and women experience high levels of stress when traveling in the evening, and they often find themselves hesitating to Go Further when the journey will demand more than an afternoon.Â
This must change - which is why we’re pleased to announce that Ford will soon offer night-vision capabilities for its 2018 F-150.
According to Torque News, the popular pick-up will receive a new radar system, blending frontal and rear sensors for precise detection. Real-time camera feeds will monitor all surrounding angles, immediately alerting drivers to the approach of pedestrians, vehicles, and more. A series of chimes, along with flashing dashboard icons, will serve as warnings to stop; and, should this fail, an automatic braking function will be deployed to avoid collisions.
Through this, the 2018 F-150 will provide greater nighttime protection. Drivers will be able to both identify and assess obstacles; and creating more efficient routes will prove far easier. The dark will no longer be a concern.
