For more than three decades, the F-Series has dominated the North American charts - resonating with consumers and igniting strong sales. Critical claim, however, has occasionally proven scarce. The F-150 hasn't always connected with analysts and assessors.

That has finally changed.

According to The Motley Fool, the 2016 F-150 was recently named Best Truck by Consumer Reports. This is a special occasion, marking the first time in almost two decades since the magazine recognized Fordâ€™s signature model (it always fell just short of expectations, losing to Dodgeâ€™s RAM and Chevroletâ€™s Silverado). After exceeding all benchmarks - including performance, reliability, and safety - the truck earned the top award.

Itâ€™s no surprise. The 2016 F-150 is Fordâ€™s most advanced F-Series option. Through a series of upgrades - including military-grade aluminum, EcoBoost efficiency, and the Pro-Trailer Backup system (the first of its kind in the heavy-duty market) - the pick-up has garnered praise from critics across North America. Consumer Reports now adds to that collection.
