The setting proved quite different this year - with SEMA closing its doors and drawing its curtains. There were no crowds thundering down the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Instead every concept car and aftermarket model was rolled onto a virtual display, captured on film instead of by curious eyes.
MotorTrend notes, however, that even this unusual SEMA experience couldn’t contain the 2021 Ranger Tremor.ÂÂ
Alberta critics were delighted to see Ford’s latest Ranger model come revving into view during the digital SEMA presentation. This truck - which will serve as part of the Performance line-up - thrilled, with its 2.3L EcoBoost engine delivering 270 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque. At the rear was a cat-back exhaust, which ensured improved air-flow performance; while bumper-mounted fog lamps framed the front, pairing with hood-hinge auxiliary lights to provide backroad illumination. Accessory side bars promised easy cargo accommodation; and the inclusion of a safari snorkel assured that the platform could confidently wade into streams.
Most impressive, though, was the 2021 Ranger Tremor’s suspension system - which paired Fox mono-tube shocks with rear leaf springs. Smooth articulation is now assured on even the roughest roads.
No official release date has been given for the new Ranger Tremor. We hope, however, that Ford will bring it to Alberta and redefine the Go Further philosophy. Contact us to share your opinion!
