THE INDUSTRY'S BEST-SELLING "STRONG BOXES"

New Holland box spreaders — known as strong boxes — are engineered to produce an even spread pattern and are built to last. These top sellers have the toughest floors and sides of any spreaders available, featuring COR-TEN® steel that is more corrosion-resistant and stronger than ordinary steels for unmatched durability. (CORT-TEN is a registered trademark of US Steel)

BOX SPREADERS

ENGINEERED FOR DURABILITY

Building the best box spreaders in the industry means providing the rugged construction needed for reliable performance. It starts with extra steel frame members in the spreader's undercarriage for increased box strength, plus, standard heavy-duty axles with high-strength steel plates and spindles for reduced frame stress.

STURDY STEEL ADDS STRENGTH

The A-frame hitch made of high-strength, lightweight steel extends far back under the bed. This directs pulling forces to the axles and carries the load instead of pulling it. The brawny, formed steel frame member protects the front of the floor. For easy servicing, the box spreader's axles are a separate component from the box.

LONG-LASTING CORROSION-RESISTANT SIDES

With sides and endgates made of special steels, New Holland box spreaders are four times more corrosion-resistant and twice as strong as ordinary steels. These maximum-strength side sheets are designed without ribs for easy-cleaning. Optional slurry sides — a New Holland exclusive — increase capacity by approximately 25 percent and reduce splash over.

LOW MAINTENANCE FLOATING FLOOR

A unique floating floor, made of 3/4-inch x 6-inch high-density polyethylene tongue-and-groove planks, expands and contracts without putting stress on the frame or sides for less box spreader wear. The rugged floor is acid- and mold-resistant, plus it won't rot, warp, chip, crack, peel or splinter, making it extremely low maintenance.

CUSTOMIZABLE FEATURES

Choose either heavy-duty T-rod or pintle-type apron chains to match your spreading conditions. With convenient rotary quadrant control, the operator can set the apron speed from the tractor, including neutral, slow-unloading, fast-unloading or clean-out positions. An optional hydraulic drive on models 185 and 195 provides even more variable spreading rates.

MORE HEAVY-DUTY FEATURES

Additional New Holland box spreaders features include:
• A rugged, heavy-duty jack mounted inside the hitch channel for added protection swings out of the way for transport.
• Up to 12 high-strength steel beaters that minimize breakage.
• Bolt-on paddles that provide knife-like cutting and shredding actions for a wide, fine spread pattern.
• A reliable straight-line, V-belt drive runs quietly and smoothly, eliminating the need for a slip clutch.

INDUSTRY-EXCLUSIVE GUARANTEE

Standard with every New Holland box spreader is a special Bonded Protection guarantee on the floors and sides for twelve years. This no-hassle guarantee offers free replacement of the floor or sides if they fail within twelve years of the original dealer purchase. No one else offers this type of protection.

HYDRABOX™

BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE AND SIMPLICITY

The fast unloading hydraulic push discharge is smooth and uniform and the vertical beaters spread material out wide and thin with a 30 foot spread pattern. The Hydrabox is ideal for top-dressing active hay fields and prior to no-till planting. Pen/bedded pack manure, poultry litter, soil amendments, mulch and compost are ideal for spreading with the Hydrabox. The Hydrabox hydraulic push is a simpler and more reliable mechanism than a traditional chain floor spreader because the chains may stretch and wear over time.

CAPACITY THAT'S SIZED RIGHT

There are two Hydrabox models, the 425V and the 550V, which have capacities of 425 and 550 heaped bushels, respectively. These capacities are sized to meet your needs no matter the size of your farm.

STRONGBOX FRAME

The frame of the spreader has been designed to carry your heaviest loads with floor supports spaced every nine inches and a fully welded structure. The tongue pulls directly from the axle, not the box, for greater reliability when hauling heavy loads year after year.

HYDRAULICS AND CYLINDERS

The operation of the Hydrabox is simplified by a phased hydraulic system. The system only requires one set of tractor remotes verses two, which is common on competitive models. Phased hydraulic control of the end-gate and push cylinder means there is less opportunity of "forgotten" end-gate damages.

The cylinders that engage the Hydrabox are a unique opposing twin push design. The staggered cylinders create a shorter distance between the tractor and the front of the spreader, the shorter tongue length the tighter turning radius and allows for better maneuverability in yards and feedlot pens. These cylinders can also be replaced independently if service is required keeping costs to a minimum.

VERTICAL BEATERS

Unlike the traditional horizontal beaters that spread only the width of the spreader, vertical beaters, standard on the New Holland Hydrabox, spread material up to a 30 foot width. The spread pattern from these vertical beaters is ideal for keeping material thin on active hay fields or before no-till seeding. These beaters are also easy to remove so the spreader may be repurposed for other jobs like stockpiling manure or poultry litter.

DURATANK™

SPREAD RIGHT WITH NEW HOLLAND

Depend on a DuraTank™ side-delivery spreader to easily handle a wide variety of material. The right-side discharge makes the DuraTank spreader is ergonomically more convenient and comfortable to operate. The three models, 2000S, 2600S and 3400S, offer something for every size job.

UNIFORM SPREAD PATTERN

The overshot expeller on the New Holland DuraTank spreader is designed to break up material and spread in a uniform pattern. The expeller is less complicated to maintain since no shroud adjustments are necessary to maintain a uniform spread pattern, and the expeller paddles are quicker to replace and less expensive compared to hammers used on other brands. Quick release poly-lined expeller trough reduces power consumption and paddle wear, especially in sticky or freezing conditions.

TANDEM AXLE

The axle weight load is split 40/60 front to rear on the DuraTank spreader. This offset makes turning easier on axle spindles when turning on hard surfaces and provides greater floatation in soft field conditions.

SEGMENTED AUGER

Unlike other continuous flighted spreader augers, the DuraTank auger is segmented which provides continuous material movement yet doesn't overload the expeller in either dry or partially frozen conditions. The main auger is also hardened to extend its service life and provides the needed strength when spreading dense, frozen or sand laden materials.

DIGI-STAR® NUTRIENT TRACKER

The Digi-Star option organizes and records your applications with ease. A scale weighs each load and records the values; additional levels of the option add a GPS feature to provide graphs and mapping. New to the industry, the Digi-Star nutrient tracker allows you to more easily keep in compliance with the EPA and DNR - CAFO regulations and also can assist with managing the costs of fertilizers.
