It seems an impossible union - the big-wheeled Raptor and the long-bodied Bronco. How could these two ever join forces? They dominate entirely different verticals (one serving as a Baja pick-up and the other delivering crossover convenience); and their powertrains share none of the same stylings, emphasizing unique performance needs. They could never become a single entity.

Never is a word for other automotive brands. Ford instead embraces the impossible - with a Raptor Bronco currently being considered.

According to Car and Driver, Ford is debating the merits of combining two of its most successful platforms - the F-150 Raptor and the Bronco. In 2020 an entirely new crossover may make its way to North America, blending elements from both vehicles to achieve all-terrain dominance. A 2.7L V6 engine is anticipated, yielding up to 335 HP; while a 10-speed automatic transmission should deliver impeccable shifting, allowing for smoother gear-to-gear transitions. The chassis should feature a four-door profile, with flared fenders and wide 20-inch wheels; and the inclusion of FOX shocks will impress drivers, letting them crisply navigate even the toughest roads.

While we must note that these specs have yet to be confirmed, Car and Driver does seem certain of their validity - drawing comparisons to Ford’s current Everest model (an Australia SUV that may serve as the foundation for the Raptor Bronco).
